The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced a new policy aimed at reducing congestion and improving the efficiency of export cargo movement into Lagos Ports. Under this policy, export cargo trucks will be required to access the port terminals within a specified time frame, failure of which will result in the automatic deactivation of their access tickets.

In a notice titled ‘Important Update: Revised Access Window for left-Pregated Export Trucks,’ issued by the Truck Transit Parks Limited (TTP) on behalf of the NPA, stakeholders were informed about the new policy set to be implemented from Monday, April 22, 2024.

The NPA stated that all left-pregated export trucks will now have a maximum of 72 hours to access the designated terminal after leaving the Export Processing Terminal. If a truck fails to access the port within this 72-hour window, its access ticket will be automatically deactivated.
