The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is seeking to collaborate with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC in areas of technical expertise development and funding for critical oil and gas infrastructure.

This was disclosed during a courtesy visit led by USTDA’s Regional Director Sub-Saharan Africa, Heather K Lanigan in company of three senior officials to the Commission’s Chief Executive: Engr. Gbenga Komolafe FNSE at the NUPRC head office in Abuja recently.

Lanigan noted that the visit was a follow up to ongoing discussions between the agency and the commission from the recently concluded CERA Week in the United States of America.

The officials informed the Commission’s Chief Executive that USTDA is willing to collaborate with NUPRC in areas of technical expertise development and funding for critical oil and gas infrastructure in Key areas of the upstream sector.

In his response, Engr. Komolafe thanked the delegation for the visit and reassured USTDA of NUPRC’s support and collaboration towards the sustainable development of Nigeria’s huge oil and gas resources, in the overriding interest of our nation and all stakeholders.

He emphasized that the Com

mission is a “Business Enabler” and as such, is focused on driving foreign direct investments into the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is currently tilting attention towards technical development. In a recent development, the commission  flagged off the Advanced Cargo Declaration Regime (ACDR) scheme to help curtail the export of stolen crude oil in Nigeria.
