Speaking on the development, the company who confirmed the leaks, said it was working with regulators and host community to investigate the fresh oil spills.

In his word: “We are working with regulators and local community to investigate the reported incident. The TNP is undergoing tests with water main flushing after injections stopped in mid-June 2022 owing to constant breaches by crude oil thieves.”

Meanwhile, there was a protest on Thursday by the people of Bodo community in Ogoni, as they took to the streets in disapproval against a fresh oil spill from SPDC in their community.
