Tetracore Energy Group Strengthens Leadership Board to Drive Africa’s Energy Transformation
Tetracore Energy Group, a leading integrated midstream and downstream energy company, has announced the appointment of three distinguished professionals — Oscar N. Onyema, OON; Aisha Balewa Abubakar; and Dr. Ayodele Oni — to its Board of Directors, in a move designed to bolster its strategic leadership and advance its mission for Africa’s sustainable energy future.
Expanding Capacity for Strategic Growth
The new directors join an experienced team led by President/CEO Olakunle Williams, alongside existing board members Kemi Williams, Okezie Okah-Avae, and Oladayo Williams. The appointments, according to Tetracore, mark a “defining moment” in the company’s growth trajectory as it scales its energy operations across Africa.
Over the years, Tetracore has become one of Nigeria’s foremost players in natural gas infrastructure, nationwide gas distribution, and autogas solutions. The firm has also pioneered hybrid renewable projects powering industries and communities—signaling its growing role in Africa’s energy transition.
Profiles of Excellence
Oscar N. Onyema, OON, former CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (now NGX Group), brings over 25 years of leadership experience spanning finance, technology, and energy. Widely credited with modernizing Nigeria’s capital market, Onyema’s strategic insight will strengthen Tetracore’s investment base and governance structure.
Aisha Balewa Abubakar, a veteran financial strategist, adds over three decades of experience in banking, institutional development, and sustainability. A former Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria, she has partnered with global institutions such as the IMF and U.S. Federal Reserve. She holds an MA in Human Resource Management and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard University, bringing a strong focus on governance and inclusion.
Dr. Ayodele Oni, an internationally recognized energy lawyer, completes the trio. Ranked among the world’s top energy law experts by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, Oni brings deep technical and regulatory expertise that will guide Tetracore’s compliance and energy commercialization strategies.
A Renewed Vision for Africa’s Energy Future
“The energy future of Africa will be driven by strong institutions and visionary leadership,” said Olakunle Williams, President/CEO of Tetracore Energy Group. “Welcoming our new directors represents a defining moment for Tetracore as we continue to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions across the continent.”
The expanded board will guide Tetracore’s next phase of growth—focusing on clean energy access, industrialization, and infrastructure expansion. With these appointments, the company reaffirms its role as a key player in advancing Africa’s transition toward a low-carbon future while fostering innovation and inclusivity in the energy sector.
