Shell Nigeria Gas Hosts Stakeholders Forum to Deepen Gas Distribution in Ogun State
Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), Nigeria’s leading gas distribution company, recently convened a high-level stakeholder engagement session with over 100 gas off-takers in the Agbara Ota industrial zone, Ogun State. The forum, themed “The Natural Gas Partner of Choice, Powering Nigeria,” focused on strengthening partnerships, improving service delivery, and exploring opportunities for future growth in gas distribution.
Strengthening Partnerships for Industrial Growth
Since its establishment in 1998, SNG has built a robust distribution network, currently operating across Abia, Rivers, and Ogun States with over 150 kilometers of pipeline infrastructure. The Agbara Ota forum was part of the company’s ongoing initiative to gather feedback directly from customers and stakeholders to better align its services with market needs.

Speaking at the event, Markus Hector, General Manager of Shell Energy Nigeria, emphasized the company’s dedication to reliability and customer satisfaction:
“Our commitment is to build, operate and maintain a gas distribution system that is not just reliable, but resilient, transparent, and growth-oriented. This forum is an opportunity for honest feedback, shared learning, and co-creating a better path forward. Your voice matters and we want to hear it.”
Federal Government Reaffirms Energy Vision
Representing the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Lateef Biobaku, Team Lead for Gas, shared insights into the Federal Government’s long-term goals for the oil and gas sector:
“Our vision is to unlock Nigeria’s energy potential, help fuel economic growth, drive industrialization, and diversify the economy. We aim to increase oil production to 4 million barrels per day and gas production to 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030.”
