Shell Companies in Nigeria Commended for Elaborate Exhibition at Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference
Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN) today kicked off their participation at the 24th Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (NOG) in Abuja with an elaborate showcase of their operations—an effort that drew commendation from top government officials and other conference participants.
Among the distinguished visitors to the SCiN stand were the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Bayo Ojulari. They were conducted around the exhibition by Chidi Nkazi, Business Value Manager at Shell.
SCiN are Diamond Sponsors of the conference and are among numerous exhibitors from 85 countries. Their exhibition highlights the positive impact of Shell’s presence on Nigeria’s development through the activities of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company of Nigeria Ltd (SNEPCo), Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), All On, and Daystar Power. These entities have achieved significant milestones in deep-water oil production, industrial gas supply, and the provision of off-grid renewable energy solutions.
Highlighting some of these milestones, Chidi revealed that Shell paid a combined royalty of $1.208 billion to the Nigerian government in 2023. He added that Shell is investing in Nigeria’s future through the Final Investment Decision on the $5 billion Bonga North deep-water project. In addition, SNEPCo has increased its interest in OML 118—which includes the Bonga field—from 55% to 67.5% following the acquisition of TotalEnergies’ 12.5% stake.
Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), for its part, currently serves more than 140 industrial and commercial customers in Ogun, Abia, and Rivers States. Meanwhile, All On boasts a growing portfolio of 51 renewable energy companies, collectively responsible for more than 210,000 energy connections nationwide. Daystar Power is also making strides, providing integrated solar power solutions to businesses in five African countries, including Nigeria.
