SAIPEC Unveils First Speakers for 10th Anniversary Conference

The Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC) has unveiled the first set of speakers for its 10th anniversary edition, scheduled for February 10–12, 2026, at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.

The confirmed speakers include senior policymakers, regulators, and executives from national oil companies (NOCs) across Africa, many of whom have contributed to SAIPEC’s growth into a leading platform for policy dialogue, investment, and energy collaboration.

Among the initial list of speakers are:

  • Dr. Emeafa Hardcastle, Acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission of Ghana

  • Engr. Felix Ogbe Omatsola, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)

  • Hon. Dr Eng. Caleb Makwiranzou, Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister for Mines and Mining Development, representing the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA)

  • Foday Mansaray, Director-General of Sierra Leone’s Petroleum Directorate

  • Dr. Ernest Rubondo, Executive Director, Petroleum Authority of Uganda

  • Baboucarr Njie, Managing Director, Gambia National Petroleum Corporation

  • Proscovia Nabbanja, CEO, Uganda National Oil Company

  • Fabian M. Lai, President and CEO, National Oil Company of Liberia

Nigerian participants include Engr. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, CEO of Geoplex Limited and Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN). Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire are also represented through directors of economics and local content.

“These leaders represent institutions and markets that have consistently engaged with SAIPEC over the past decade, reinforcing the event’s role as a trusted forum for sustained policy dialogue, regional cooperation, and investment promotion,” organisers said.

The SAIPEC 2026 anniversary edition is hosted by PETAN in strategic partnership with NCDMB, NNPC Limited, NUPRC, and AOS Orwell. The event will feature sessions on Nigeria’s ongoing oil licensing round, investment opportunities across Africa’s upstream, gas, and infrastructure sectors, and dedicated country spotlight discussions.

Networking remains a key component, with business meetings, executive receptions, and exhibition showcases designed to foster partnerships. The international exhibition is expected to host over 150 exhibitors, featuring cutting-edge technologies across exploration, production, engineering, digitalisation, and energy transition.

Further speaker announcements are expected in the coming weeks as SAIPEC gears up for its milestone anniversary.
