REAN Gets New Executive Secretary – Salamatu Baba Tunzwang,  a seasoned project manager and business development consultant, is now  the new Executive Secretary of the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN).
A statement by the Head of Communications at REAN, Chioma Ome, said that Tunzwang whose work experience spans across telecom, banking, and development sectors has almost 20 years  of cross-cutting experience.
“She started her career in the telecoms sector with MTN and Globalcom Nigeria where she quickly rose to mid-management and thereafter transitioned to the financial sector as Branch Manager in both Ecobank and Sterling Bank where she managed the World Bank and Islamic Development Bank project funds.
“Her passion for the poor and vulnerable in society and the desire to positively impact humanity led her to switch career paths from the financial sector to the development sector where she worked with notable players in the development space such as Society for Family Health, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Palladium Nigeria. She led JICA’s implementation of 5s-Kaizen as a tool for a continuous health improvement project in FCT and Lagos and supported JICA’s Solar electrification project at the Osuma dam,” the statement reads partly.
“Salamatu is an amiable bridge builder who has facilitated several partnerships and promoted collaborations in the public and private sectors; she led the collaboration of the Propcom Mai-karfi and GIZ resilience and livelihood project and other private sector collaborations with Total Exploration Nigeria.
“She is a tenacious goal-getter who is open to taking on new challenges as she views every challenge as a learning curve and opportunity and to perform even better, her willingness to take on challenges has seen her transitioned across telecoms, banking, health, and agricultural sector. She brings her wealth of experience in the renewable energy space as the new Executive Secretary for REAN.”
The statement added that Tunzwang is expected to lead the association in its quest to bridging the energy gap in Nigeria.
