OTL Africa 2025: Industry Titans to Chart New Course for Energy Sustainability in Lagos

Leaders and stakeholders across Africa’s petroleum, gas, and energy value chain will gather in Lagos from October 26 to 31, 2025, for the 19th edition of the OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week, the continent’s flagship event for the downstream sector.
Organised in partnership with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other strategic institutions, the annual event—widely recognised as OTL Africa Downstream—remains a premier platform for driving investment, innovation, and policy dialogue across Africa’s energy landscape.
This year’s edition, themed “Energy Sustainability – Growth Beyond Boundaries and Competition,” will be held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel and will spotlight new dynamics shaping the downstream petroleum industry amid increasing competition and structural transformation.
According to Joyce Akabogu, Chief Executive Officer of OTL Downstream Development in Africa, the 2025 edition aims to strengthen collaboration and chart a clear path toward a sustainable and competitive energy future for the continent.
“OTL Africa Downstream has, for nearly two decades, served as a reference point for shaping policy direction, promoting investment, and enhancing operational excellence in Africa’s downstream energy market,” Akabogu stated.
The conference will host ministerial and regulatory panels from four West African countries, focusing on regional cooperation and policy harmonisation. More than 50 high-profile speakers—including government officials, industry executives, financiers, and innovators—will share insights on emerging trends in technology, financing, market development, and strategic realignment.
Beyond the main sessions, delegates will explore the OTL Trade Exhibition, where global and regional energy brands will display the latest advancements in refining, petroleum trading, storage, logistics, marketing, and retail. Exhibitors will also feature innovations in LPG, lubricants, petrochemicals, power, and financial services.
A major highlight of the week is a technical tour of the Dangote Refinery Complex, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the scale and operations of Africa’s largest industrial facility.
The event will also feature a range of networking sessions, business receptions, and social activities, designed to give delegates an engaging and memorable experience of Lagos—Nigeria’s vibrant energy and business hub.
Since its inception 18 years ago, OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week has evolved into a leading platform for promoting growth, competition, and sustainability within the continent’s downstream energy sector.
