OGTAN to Honour Industry Leaders at Prestigious Energy Awards in Lagos
Lagos, Nigeria — The Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) has announced plans to celebrate outstanding contributions to capacity building and human capital development in the energy sector at its upcoming awards ceremony on September 12 in Lagos.
According to the association, the event will recognise both organisations and individuals who have played pivotal roles in advancing training, knowledge transfer, and local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Among the honourees:

Petroleum Training Institute will receive the Excellence in Oil and Gas Training Award.

Nigeria LNG Limited will be recognised as Best Corporate Training Partner.

Dr. Ernest Nwapa, pioneer Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Capacity Building Award.

The NCDMB itself will be named Government Partner of the Year.

Pana Holdings Limited and Oilserv Limited will share the Affiliate of the Year Award.

TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited is nominated for the Young Professional Development Award.

Aradel Holdings Plc and First Exploration & Petroleum Development Company will be honoured as Indigenous Human Capital Development Companies of the Year.

Mrs. Funmi Ogbue, CEO of Zigma Energy Group and pioneer President of the Women in Energy Network, will receive the Women in Energy Leadership Award.
Christopher Osarumwense, President of OGTAN, said the awards reflect the association’s mission to support the oil and gas industry through world-class training and development.
“Training is the backbone of a sustainable energy industry. By recognising those who champion excellence in human capital development, we reaffirm our commitment to building the skills and knowledge that Nigeria’s oil and gas sector needs to thrive,” Osarumwense stated.
The event is expected to draw top executives, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the energy value chain, underscoring the centrality of capacity building in Nigeria’s drive for sustainable energy growth.
