OSLO, Norway – ConocoPhillips Skandinavia has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use a new submarine cable at the Eldfisk complex in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

This will transmit electrical power from Eldfisk 2/7 S to Eldfisk 2/7 B. In addition, ConocoPhillips can use the Island Constructor for well intervention activities on the Ekofisk subsea template 2/4-VA. The program should start next month and continue for around 43 days.

Aker BP has the PSA’s approval to drill exploration well 15/6-16 S on the Hornet Main prospect in North Sea block 15/6, production license 777, with options for a side track and testing. The location is north of the Gina Krog field and south of Gudrun in 116 m (380 ft) of water.

Odfjell’s semisub Deepsea Stavanger should start the 46-day program during the current quarter.

Lundin Norway has the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s permission to drill exploratory well 16/1-31 in North Sea license PL 338, using the semisub Leiv Eiriksson. The target is 4 km (2.5 mi) northeast of the Lundin-operated Edvard Grieg platform.
