NNPCL Posts ₦216bn Profit, Advances Pipeline Projects to Near Completion
Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reported a profit after tax of ₦216 billion for September 2025, driven by total revenue of ₦4.26 trillion, according to its latest monthly performance report.
The company disclosed that crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.61 million barrels per day (bpd) during the month — slightly lower than 1.64 million bpd recorded in August.
The report also revealed that 5,284 million metric standard cubic feet (mmscf) of gas were produced in September, while the company’s retail division maintained 77 percent PMS availability nationwide.
Between January and August 2025, NNPCL remitted ₦10.07 trillion in statutory payments to the Federation, reaffirming its pivotal role in sustaining Nigeria’s fiscal stability.
On infrastructure development, the national oil company said that its flagship gas transmission projects — the Obiafu–Obrikom–Oben (OB3) and Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipelines — are now 96 percent and 88 percent completed, respectively.
The revised execution strategy for the OB3 River Niger Crossing, the report added, is progressing well, with 113 kilometers of pipeline already commissioned, currently delivering around 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of gas to producers.
NNPCL noted that temporary output moderation in September was linked to planned maintenance activities at key facilities, including the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) plant, as well as delayed operational starts at Oil Mining Leases (OMLs) 71 and 72.
Despite the moderation, upstream asset availability stood at 96 percent, underscoring steady progress in operational reliability and infrastructure expansion.
Reaffirming its commitment to collaboration across the energy value chain, NNPCL pledged to sustain investment in gas infrastructure and enhance production efficiency to support Nigeria’s growing domestic and export markets.
