NNPC Retail Summit: Beyond The Pump Co-Creating the Future Ends with Colourful Award and Recognition Dinner Awards
Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited, hosted a summit recently in Abuja. It brought together key players in the energy and retail ecosystem under the theme: “Beyond the Pump: Co-creating the future of the Retail Forecourt.” The event served as a strategic platform to redefine the future of mobility, retail operations and customer-centric energy service delivery in Nigeria.
NNPC Retail summit came alive as industry leaders, dealers, strategic partners and stakeholders across Nigeria’s downstream energy sector converged at the PTDF Auditorium for the highly impactful NNPC Retail Business Transformation Summit 2026.
In his welcome address, the Executive Director, Retail Operations & Mobility, NNPC Retail Limited, Baba Shettima Kukawa, emphasized the urgent need for innovation and transformation within the downstream sector. He noted that the traditional fuel-only retail model is no longer sufficient in a rapidly changing business environment driven by evolving customer expectations and tightening operational margins.
According to him, the future of the retail forecourt lies in diversification, technology integration, strategic partnerships and customer experience excellence. He stressed that the transformation agenda of NNPC Retail Limited is aimed at repositioning retail outlets into profitable, high-yielding lifestyle hubs capable of delivering sustainable value beyond fuel sales.
NNPC Retail top management executives, Dr. Mumuni Dagazau, EVP Downstream, NNPC Ltd, whose participation underscored the corporation’s commitment towards driving innovation and sustainable growth in the downstream sector.
Speaking at the summit, Mr. Huub Stokman, Managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited, reaffirmed the company’s vision of building a resilient, digitally enabled and customer-focused retail network capable of competing favourably on the global stage.
The summit featured intensive masterclasses, panel discussions and strategic engagement sessions focused on customer insights, financial enablement, operational efficiency, digital transformation and non-fuel retail opportunities. Dealers were also exposed to innovative financing pathways, technology-driven solutions and strategic collaborations designed to improve profitability and long-term sustainability.
One of the major highlights of the summit was the “Deal Room,” where dealers interacted directly with financial institutions, technology providers and Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) partners to explore investment and expansion opportunities tailored to emerging customer demands.
The summit climaxed with a colourful Award and Recognition Dinner held on the 22nd of May, 2026, where outstanding retailers across the NNPC Retail dealer network were honoured for exceptional performance, operational excellence and customer service delivery.
Cash prizes ranging from Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) to Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) were presented to deserving awardees amidst cheers and celebrations from participants and stakeholders.
The award recipients expressed profound gratitude to the management of NNPC Retail Limited for recognizing their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and celebration as guests danced and rejoiced alongside popular music group, Style Plus, whose electrifying performance added glamour and entertainment to the memorable evening.
