NNPC GCEO Calls for Stronger African Energy Collaboration
Brazzaville, Republic of Congo – September 17, 2025
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has called for deeper collaboration among African nations to achieve energy security and accelerate the continent’s transition.
Speaking at the African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO) CEOs Forum, Ojulari emphasized the need for Africa to harness its abundant resources as European investment in fossil fuels declines.
“Africa must design policies for Africa. With our vast resources and improved governance, the continent can secure its energy destiny,” he said.
He outlined NNPC’s key projects, including the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline and the Nigeria–Morocco Gas Pipeline, which aim to strengthen regional integration.
Ojulari also announced that Nigeria has achieved 100% pipeline availability for the first time in two decades through partnerships with host communities and security agencies.
