NIPCO Celebrates Long-Serving Employees, Urges Commitment to Selfless Service Amid Industry Challenges

NIPCO Plc, a leading integrated downstream operator in Nigeria’s hydrocarbon sector, has reaffirmed its commitment to excellence by urging employees to continue delivering selfless service despite the evolving challenges in the oil and gas industry.

This call came from the company’s Managing Director/CEO, Suresh Kumar, during a special ceremony in Lagos honoring more than 20 employees who have dedicated between 10 and 20 years of service to the organisation.

Recognising Dedication and Loyalty

The event, attended by staff across all levels, featured the presentation of Long Service Award plaques and other benefits. Several of the honorees were among NIPCO’s very first employees, a testament to the company’s ability to retain top talent over the years.

“These employees have contributed significantly to the development and growth of the organisation,” Suresh Kumar noted. “It is encouraging that several of you have been part of the company’s achievements over the last twenty-one years. Your commitment reflects NIPCO’s reputation as a preferred workplace and serves as an inspiration to new employees.”

Driving Growth in a Changing Industry

Since its establishment in 2004, NIPCO has achieved notable milestones, yet the MD acknowledged that there is still room for improvement—particularly in navigating the changes brought about by deregulation in the downstream sector.

Suresh Kumar emphasised that the dedication shown by the awardees aligns perfectly with the company’s long-term expansion goals, underscoring the importance of teamwork, resilience, and adaptability.

Building a Supportive Workplace Culture

The Managing Director highlighted that one of the Human Resources department’s primary goals is to create rewarding career paths and maintain a supportive work environment. Initiatives like the Long Service Awards, he explained, are designed to help employees realise their full potential in a performance-driven organisation.

A Vote of Thanks from the Team

Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Manager of LPG Operations, Khamal Badmus, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition. “This award is an encouragement for us to continue giving our best and a motivation for newer employees to strive for excellence,” he said.
