NDDI Commends Navy for Safeguarding National Assets and Combating Oil Theft

A pro-democracy and development group known as the Niger-Delta Development Initiative (NDDI) has praised the Nigerian Navy for its commendable efforts in addressing oil bunkering issues in the Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued by the group’s president, Rev. Sam Smith Tonye, the NDDI acknowledged the relentless commitment of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, in combating oil theft since assuming office.

The group also expressed appreciation for the CNS’s role in significantly reducing incidents of oil theft in the Niger Delta and safeguarding the nation’s coastal waters against external threats aimed at stealing the country’s resources.

The NDDI voiced concern over the detrimental impact of pirates and illegal oil merchants on the Nigerian economy in the Niger Delta. However, it expressed satisfaction that the naval chief is taking decisive measures to confront and address these challenges effectively.
