Heritage Energy Pushes for High-Quality R&D to Ensure Sustainable Future for African Oil & Gas

 Ado Oseragbaje, CEO of Heritage Energy, called for increased investment in high-quality research and development (R&D) to ensure the long-term sustainability of the African oil and gas industry.

Oseragbaje made this statement during a panel discussion on “African Content & Opportunities: Sustainability and the Future of Content Development in Africa’s Energy Sector” at the ongoing Nigeria International Energy Summit. He emphasized the need for “outcome-driven” research that fosters technological advancement and sustainable practices.

Urgency for Change and Emphasis on Innovation

Oseragbaje, represented by Nelson Wilbert, GM Operational Integrity, highlighted the urgency of this shift due to the rapidly evolving industry landscape. He stressed the importance of revamping educational curriculums to cultivate a culture of innovation among future generations working in the sector.

Oseragbaje also advocated for holding Nigerian oil and gas contractors, both independent and international, to higher standards. He believes this will enhance their competitiveness in the global market and contribute to the industry’s long-term sustainability.

Multi-Stakeholder Discussion on a Sustainable Future

The panel session, moderated by Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun, Managing Director of Starzs Investment Co. Ltd, aimed to spark discussions on crafting a sustainable and future-oriented approach to content development in Africa’s energy sector. This included considering environmental impact, technological advancements, industry-specific dynamics, and potential avenues for future growth.
