HEOSL Urges Focus on Quality Research & Development for Sustainable Growth in African Oil and Gas Industry

Ado Oseragbaje, the CEO of Heritage Operational Services Limited (HEOSL), leading operator of OML 30 on behalf of NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL), has called for a concerted effort towards high-quality Research and Development (R&D) to ensure the sustainability of the African Oil and Gas industry.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Nigeria International Energy Summit in Abuja, Oseragbaje emphasized the critical role of R&D in driving technology and sustainability within the industry. Represented by Nelson Wilbert, GM Operational Integrity, Oseragbaje stressed the need for an outcome-driven approach, highlighting the urgency of fostering innovation within the sector.

The panel discussion, titled “African Content & Opportunities: Sustainability and the Future of Content Development in Africa’s Energy Sector,” featured discussions on fostering sustainable growth, environmental impact considerations, technological advancements, and strategies for future development.

Oseragbaje also urged oil companies, including both IOCs and Independents, to uphold high standards for Nigerian contractors. Doing so, he noted, would not only enhance their competitiveness globally but also contribute significantly to the industry’s sustainability efforts.
