Heirs Energies Drives African Entrepreneurship
…Invests $10 million in 2,000 Startups
Chairman of Heirs Energies, Mr. Tony Elumelu, has consistently emphasized that
“Africa’s future will be built by Africans who create businesses, generate jobs and drive economic transformation across the continent.”
The company is pleased to share its continued partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), through which it has committed over $10 million to support 2,000 African entrepreneurs across two programme cycles.
This year, as TEF unveiled its 2026 cohort of 3,200 entrepreneurs from all 54 African countries, it is proud to be part of a platform that is catalysing business creation, job growth, and economic inclusion at scale.
In 2025, Heirs Energies supported 1,000 entrepreneurs, with 40% from the Niger Delta, including significant participation from its host communities.
In 2026, it is supporting another 1,000 entrepreneurs, with 50% from the Niger Delta, deepening focus on the region where it operates.
Importantly, 48% of beneficiaries are women, reflecting commitment to inclusive growth.
This builds on broader impact across Heirs operations in OML 17, where the company continues to invest in long-term community development.
Over 500 youths empowered through skills acquisition and enterprise development.
Also, over 1,621 students supported through educational grants and more than 18,000 people reached through medical outreach programmes.
More than 135 community infrastructure projects delivered, spanning schools, healthcare, electrification, access roads and water systems.
Beyond its host communities, gas supply into Nigeria’s domestic network enables over 350MW of electricity generation, powering homes, schools and industries, and supporting economic activity at scale.
