Gas Turbine Experts to Convene in Abuja for High-Impact Asset Management Conference Driving Africa’s Energy Future
The 2025 Gas Turbine Asset Management Conference, organized by Thomassen Energy in partnership with PE Energy, is set to take place from June 23 to 24 at the Continental Hotel, Abuja. Themed “Unleashing Value: Innovative Asset Strategies for a Resilient African Economy,” the event will bring together top engineers, industry leaders, energy experts, and policymakers to shape the future of power generation and sustainability across the continent.
According to Dr. Daere Akobo, Chairman and Group CEO of PANA Holdings, the conference aims to spotlight the untapped potential in Africa’s existing energy assets. “We believe the future of Africa’s power lies not only in building new assets but in unlocking the full value of the ones we already have. This conference is our collective call to action to upgrade, innovate, and to empower a continent ready to lead,” he stated.
As the continent faces increasing electricity demands and aging turbine fleets, the event underscores the urgency of adopting cutting-edge asset management strategies. The conference will focus on life extension techniques for gas turbines, digital innovations, local service development, and alignment with Africa’s ongoing clean energy transition.
Thomassen Energy CEO Peter Stuttaford emphasized the evolving role of asset management in Africa’s power revolution. “Asset management is no longer a back-office function; it is the frontline of Africa’s energy transformation. Together with our partners, PE Energy, we are here to drive solutions that extend turbine life, localize expertise, and power a future that is both sustainable and self-reliant,” he said.
