The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works and Housing, plans to commence a major private sector participation program to boost investment in Nigeria’s national highways under the regulatory guidance of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
The program, which is in partnership with the Lagos Business School Centre for Infrastructure Policy Regulation and Advancement (CIPRA), is scheduled to hold via Zoom on June 25th, 2020.
According to ICRC, the program is aimed at attracting private investment and expertise to transform the country’s federal highways to world class economic corridors.
“In line with the economic recovery and sustainability drive of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola SAN and the entire ministry intend to commence a major private sector participation program to boost investment in Nigeria’s National highways under the regulatory guidance of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission. The overall program is aimed at attracting private investment and expertise to transform our federal highways to world class economic corridors.
“In order to improve the program structure and obtain required input from the general public, road users, investors etc in line with the National Policy on Public Private Partnerships. The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing in partnership with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission and the Lagos Business School Centre for Infrastructure Policy Regulation and Advancement (CIPRA) are holding a Federal Highways Management Initiative stakeholder consultation webinar …,” ICRC said.
