Egbin Power CEO Champions Sustainable Growth at Shell Power Conference 2025
The Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Power Plc, Mokhtar Bounour, has reiterated the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable development in Nigeria’s electricity sector.
Speaking at the 2025 Shell Power Conference held in Ikeja, Lagos, Bounour said collaboration, innovation, and strategic investments are essential to powering Nigeria’s energy future. The conference, themed “Powering Nigeria’s Energy Future: Bridging the Gap Between Ambition and Action,” gathered energy leaders, policy experts, and stakeholders for an in-depth discussion on improving the sector.
Describing the conference conversations as “bold and forward-thinking,” Bounour stressed the importance of building a resilient power sector grounded in safety, reliability, and inclusiveness.
“Providing adequate and reliable electricity to power industries, hospitals, schools, and homes is central to enhancing socio-economic development,” he said. “Health and safety must remain non-negotiable as we advance the sector.”
Bounour called for increased collaboration across power generation, transmission, and distribution value chains to catalyse operational improvements. He highlighted the need for investment in cutting-edge technologies that can drive efficiency and elevate service delivery.
