Domestic Gas Footprints: NNPC Is Adding 1.1bcf Additional Capacity To Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System, Says Kyari

The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, says NNPC is focusing on expanding the Domestic Gas footprints, to support the Nation’s gas-to-power aspirations and industrialization, adding that the Nation’s oil corporation is also adding: “1.1bcf additional capacity to Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System thru the ELPS II Project; connection of gas from East-West thru OB3 is nearing completion and extension of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) is about to commence.”

He added: “NNPC is focused on expanding the Domestic Gas footprints to support the nation’s gas-to-power aspirations and industrialization GMD Kyari: NNPC is adding 1.1bcf additional capacity to Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System thru the ELPS II Project; connection of gas from East-West thru OB3 is nearing completion & extension of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) is about to commence.

 

The NNPC GMD also noted: “NNPC is working with technical partners to revamp its three refineries in Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Warri. We have completed Phase 1 & advancing Phase 2 of PHRC while working vigorously on WRPC & KRPC Phase 1 revamp projects.

“We are, more than ever before, committed to working with stakeholders to increase our crude oil production from 2.3 million bbl per day to 3 million bbl per day.

“We’re equally committed to achieving the 40bn bbl national oil reserve target. Our recent successes in inland basin exploration in the Gongola basin & the amendment of Deep Offshore Act will improve fiscal stability and investor confidence.
