Axxela Records 9 Million Man-Hours Without Lost Time Injury
A Testament to Operational Safety Excellence
Axxela Limited, a leading gas and power portfolio company in sub-Saharan Africa, has achieved a major safety milestone—9 million man-hours with zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) across its operations. This accomplishment reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to global safety standards and operational integrity.
The achievement builds on Axxela’s previous records of 7 million man-hours in 2023 and 8 million in 2024, demonstrating a sustained culture of excellence and continuous improvement in workplace safety.
“Recording 9 million hours without a lost-time injury is a powerful reflection of the deeply embedded safety culture at Axxela,” said Timothy Ononiwu, Group Chief Executive Officer of Axxela. “It speaks to our team’s shared commitment to operational excellence, disciplined adherence to safety protocols, and collective accountability. Safety is not just a policy—it’s a core value.”
John Okoro, Head of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability, added:
“This milestone reminds us that safety is everyone’s responsibility. Our zero-tolerance approach to non-compliance protects lives, sustains operations, and reinforces our duty to stakeholders. It motivates us to keep raising the bar.”
