Arbitration Underway as Green Energy, Lekoil Clarify Position on Contract Dispute
Green Energy International Limited and Lekoil Nigeria Limited have issued a joint statement addressing recent media reports concerning an ongoing court matter linked to a commercial disagreement with a service provider.
The companies clarified that the dispute stems from a contractual claim currently undergoing arbitration, in line with the dispute resolution mechanism agreed upon by the parties. They emphasized that the matter is properly before an arbitral tribunal and that the financial figures cited in some reports are unliquidated and still subject to review and audit under the relevant contractual framework.
According to the statement, prior to the interim court application referenced in media coverage, both firms had already initiated legal proceedings at the Federal High Court in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/225/26. This included filing an application for an anti-suit injunction aimed at safeguarding the agreed arbitration process. The companies noted that these filings were duly served on H-PTP before the subsequent court actions mentioned in the press.
Given that the matter is currently before both judicial and arbitral bodies, Green Energy and Lekoil Nigeria stated that it would be inappropriate to make further substantive comments at this stage.
