ANGI Energy Systems Breaks Ground on Pioneering Hydrogen Refueling Test Facility

Janesville, WI – March 22, 2024 – ANGI Energy Systems (ANGI), a subsidiary of Vontier (NYSE: VNT), celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony yesterday for its new $4 million Hydrogen Refueling Test Facility, the first of its kind in the Midwest.

Industry Leadership in Hydrogen Solutions

The 3,000 square foot facility, located at ANGI’s Janesville, Wisconsin headquarters, will focus on testing and validating components and systems used in hydrogen refueling stations for hydrogen-powered vehicles, particularly heavy-duty trucks.

This milestone marks the beginning of a three-month construction project undertaken in partnership with specialist contractor FASTECH.

Facility to Serve Multiple Purposes

ANGI plans to make the facility available to industry partners for their research and development endeavors. Additionally, the company aims to establish local apprenticeship programs to cultivate a skilled workforce for the burgeoning hydrogen sector.

Building a Sustainable Future

“As pioneers in the alternative energy sector, we are proud to lead the hydrogen infrastructure revolution,” said Joel van Rensburg, President of ANGI. “This facility will accelerate the development and validation of low-carbon technologies, fostering partnerships and investments in the hydrogen economy.”

The facility showcases the viability of hydrogen as a clean and secure energy source for reducing emissions in hard-to-abate sectors like transportation and industry.

Collaboration and Innovation

“Our experience in building and maintaining energy infrastructure makes us the ideal partner for ANGI,” said Dan McGill, President of FASTECH. “Together, we’re not only enabling the decarbonization of transportation but also building the future of hydrogen in Wisconsin.”

Beyond the Facility

ANGI is gearing up to deliver and install its first commercial Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) for Trillium Energy at Santa Clarita Transit this summer. Their modular HRS design offers flexibility and high reliability, backed by extensive service and maintenance support.
